Purpose of the Postgraduate Program

It is part of the strategic planning of the Department of Rural Development of the Democritus University of Thrace.

Promotion of knowledge

The subject matter of the postgraduate program is the cognitive approach and advancement of the scientific field of Agronomy through academic teaching, research, and application, viewed through the lens of lifelong learning in Agricultural Science.

Research development

Collaboration with other academic institutions or research centers, scientific or social organizations, provided that their scientific objectives coincide with or align with those of the Master’s Program.

Professional development

Need for professional development of scientists in the field of applied Agricultural Science, with the aim of enabling their professional engagement in relevant and innovative work environments after graduating from the MSc program.
 

History

The Postgraduate Program titled “Sustainable Production Systems and Environment in Agriculture” has been operating since the academic year 2014–2015 and was established in XXXX (Government Gazette X’ XXXX).

The base of the Postgraduate Program is located in Orestiada, in the facilities of the Department of Agricultural Development, in Building A.

Application Submission

The Master’s Program accepts graduates from all Departments of Agricultural and Forestry Schools, graduates from Schools of Science, Polytechnic Schools, Schools of Economic and Political Sciences, Schools of Health Sciences of domestic universities or recognized equivalent institutions abroad, as well as graduates from Technological Educational Institutes (TEI) with a relevant field of study.
