A postgraduate student submitting any postgraduate work is required to state whether they have used the work and opinions of others.

Copying is considered a serious academic offense. Plagiarism includes copying someone else’s work as well as using another person’s work, whether published or unpublished, without proper citation. The inclusion of any supporting material, even from the candidate’s own studies, without proper reference, may lead to a decision by the Department Assembly for their expulsion.

In such cases, following a justified recommendation by the supervising professor, the Department Assembly may decide on the student’s expulsion.

Any offense or violation of academic ethics is referred to the Coordinating Committee of the Postgraduate Program for evaluation and recommendation on how to address the issue in the Department Assembly.

Violations also include cases of copying or plagiarism and, in general, any infringement of intellectual property regulations by a postgraduate student in the course of writing assignments or completing a postgraduate dissertation.

If it is determined that a faculty member has committed plagiarism, they will be referred by the Department Chair to the Institution’s Ethics and Conduct Committee. The Department of Agricultural Development adopts the anti-plagiarism guide drafted by the Quality Assurance Unit (MODIP) of Democritus University of Thrace (DUTH), which is available at the following link:
