Purpose
The Postgraduate Program titled “Sustainable Production Systems in Agriculture and the Environment” is part of the strategic planning of the Department of Agricultural Development at Democritus University of Thrace (DUTH). It is characterized by scientific coherence and aims to further advance knowledge, promote research, and meet the educational, research, social, and developmental needs of the country.
Specifically, the program’s academic field focuses on the cognitive approach and advancement of Agricultural Science through academic teaching, research, and application, under the perspective of lifelong learning in Agricultural Science.
The necessity of this program arises from the need to professionally develop scientists in applied Agricultural Science, with the realistic goal of enabling graduates to engage in innovative and relevant professional environments in Greece and abroad.
The teaching staff of the program consists of faculty members (Teaching and Research Staff) and PhD holders from both the Department of Agricultural Development and other departments of Democritus University of Thrace, as well as from other universities in Greece and abroad. Additionally, recognized scientists with relevant expertise contribute to the teaching and research activities of the program. The scientific and research work of the instructors aligns with the thematic areas of the program’s courses.
